Chapter Twelve

Rafe wasn’t entirely sure how the hell he’d found himself in Beck’s office after his little confrontation with Noah. He’d taken his camera and returned to Lincoln Park, in hopes of taking some early rising pictures of the sun, and perhaps catching a few of the heron that sometimes frequented the waters. That normalcy of stalking his perfect shot should’ve helped ease his mind, but instead thoughts kept swirling around in his head like a tornado - one chasing another until he was ready to scream. He felt like a coiled spring, so tightly wound that a stiff breeze would cause him to snap. So, after a few lack luster shots of the waterline he began to aimlessly wander up Lake Shore Drive, mingling with the rush hour foot traffic of its busy citizens heading to work.

That’s when he’d found himself in front of a building that had Se Coller on its side. The name rung a bell, and he’d suddenly found himself with an overwhelming need for a hug and a strong chest to rest his head against. That’s when he recalled the business card that Aadya had given him. He’d stuffed it in the pocket of his leather bomber jacket and forgotten about it. He’d had no intentions of tempting fates by contacting Beck Doane. But now that he was standing in front of the desk in the man’s office, he found the physical attraction he felt for Beck pushed to the side by his need to be held.

Definitely in Little space here.

With the Beck’s question ringing in his ears, for the first time he didn’t retreat from the urge. This time he embraced the Little who hungered for a gentle touch, to be told everything would be okay.

“Yeah...” The word came out rough, as he shoved his hands deeper in the pockets of his bomber jacket.

A soft smile crossed Beck’s face as he pushed back from his desk, making room. “Then come here, boy.”

The easy acceptance lured him closer, until Rafe found himself mere feet from the seated man. With his arms resting on the arms of the huge executive desk chair and his long legs sprawled out under the desk, Beck looked as comfortable as a bear lying in the sun. Rafe’s hands trembled inside his pockets. “I...”

“It’s your choice, Rafael.” Beck didn’t move towards him. “You want it, you take it.”

If he had been in any other state than his Little, he’d have told the man that he shouldn’t make such an offer to a man who hadn’t been fucked in nearly a year. However, firmly in Little space, his hunger wasn’t for sex. It was for the safe, warm place that Beck was offering.

“Okay.” The word came out choppy before he inched closer. He wasn’t exactly sure how to get what he needed without crawling on to Beck’s lap, and he wasn’t in a stage where he felt comfortable in just climbing into a stranger’s lap. He looked up into Beck’s dark blue eyes.
