‘Everything okay?’ Ginny looked up after she’d finished scribbling on the paper.

Sally smiled. ‘Yes, it’s Andy asking if I want to go out for a day trip with him tomorrow.’

‘That’s cool. Where are you going?’

‘Oh, I’m not. I had yesterday off so I have to work tomorrow. Still, it feels good he’s asked.’

Ginny stood up and grabbed the clipboard with the rota on. ‘Yes, just as I thought. It’s your day off tomorrow.’

‘Yes, but I had yesterday off instead.’

‘No, that was annual leave. You’re still off tomorrow.’ Ginny tapped the clipboard and grinned. ‘You can go.’

‘Aw, no, I’d feel bad taking the day off after I’ve just had one. Plus, with everything going on with the build next door, I should be here to help.’ Sally bit at her thumbnail.

Ginny nudged her shoulder. ‘Go. Have fun. What can we actually do here until the protest?’

‘I guess you’re right.’ Sally looked down at the rota again. Tomorrow was definitely scheduled as her day off. ‘I’ll write the letter to the MP tonight.’

‘Good idea, I’ll do the same.’ Ginny looked at her and raised her eyebrows. ‘Back to you and Andy though. Where are you going on your day trip? You never did answer.’

‘I don’t know. He’s only asked if I’m free, he’s not mentioned if he has somewhere in mind.’ Sally traced the pad of her index finger across her lips. She’d be happy wherever they ended up as long as she could spend some time with Andy.
