Saturday morning came far too quickly. Greg’s alarm went off at five-thirty, and his first reaction was to smash the damned thing into oblivion.

“Wassat?”

“Shhh, it’s my alarm. I’ll leave a note where to meet if you decide you want to come to the festival.”

Leaving Otto ensconced in the covers, Greg dragged himself out of bed and headed to take a shower. Along the way, he decided nothing that required him leaving Otto in bed was worth getting up for.

He turned on the shower and waited for it to reach maximum temperature before he stepped into the enclosure. As the hot water pummeled his head and shoulders, Greg contemplated his day, wondering if there was any part of it he could ask Blaine to take care of—there wasn’t. Having Otto here and unattainable was more difficult than he’d thought it would be.

The shower slider opened, and Otto stumbled inside, his eyes still half-mast. Greg automatically moved aside, letting Otto stand under the spray in a sort of waking stupor.

“Um, why are you awake? Not that I’m complaining,” he hastened to add.

“I’m not awake.”

Greg grinned. Morning Otto was cute. He didn’t say that, though; he had a feeling he might get in hot water—except he was already in hot water, wasn’t he? He snickered at his joke.

“What is there to laugh about at zero-butt-thirty in the morning?” Otto glared at him with his hair plastered against his skull. It was hard not to chuckle again.

“Nothing. I gotta meet Blaine at six-thirty for a last-minute panic attack before we head to the high school.”

“Is there coffee?”

“There’s coffee.”

“Good. Can I use your shampoo?”

“Of course.”

“Then I’m coming with.”

Greg held out the plastic bottle and squeezed a dollop of shampoo into Otto’s palm. “Enough? Are you sure you want to come along?”

Otto nodded as he rubbed the shampoo into his hair.

“Yeah, ’cause otherwise I have a feeling your little neighbor will be up here knocking on the door.”

Greg chuckled. “She’s persistent.” What he was really thinking was how sexy Otto was, and how Otto getting himself out of bed to join Greg this early in the morning was giving him a funny tingle in the pit of his stomach. Squeezing a little shampoo out for himself, he shut his eyes as he rubbed his scalp.

“You know what I love about taking a shower with a friend?” Otto asked.

“Blow jobs?” Greg opened one eye to look at Otto.

“I can show off all my sexy sudsy hairstyles! Check it out: Elvis.” Otto struck a pose before scrabbling with his hair again. “Medusa…punk rocker…conehead.”

They all looked mostly the same to Greg. Otto grinned; soap dripped down his forehead, and Greg wiped it off, not able to keep the smile off his face.

“Conehead?” Greg asked.

Otto cocked his neck. “Not my best? Hmm, I need to work out some details before I go public.”

Greg’s internal clock was telling him they needed to hurry or they, he, was going to be late meeting up with Blaine—and knowing his friend. he’d never hear the end of it.
