With the end of the season not far away, and semi-finals coming up, Coach has been running us ragged. We’d had hours of practice today because it was a Saturday, and I had returned home aching all over. Priss had been kind enough to give me a massage, and now I was at Bart’s with my friends, trying to further unwind.
Presley and Tate were on the dance floor, dancing sensually all over each other—Priss’s eyes steadily on me.
Taking a sip of my beer, I grinned. I had some plans for her tonight.
“Damn!” Lyle breathed. “Why can’t I get a girl like that?”
“You’d be surprised what a good shower and some deodorant will do,” Rex snarked.
Scowling at him in irritation, Lyle said, “Fuck you, Rex. You’re just as nasty as me.”
“But look at my bitch.” He waved a hand towards Tate, who was teasingly running a hand down Presley’s body while watching him.
“Come here, Priss.” I crooked a finger at my girlfriend, and she came, straddling my lap with her arms wrapped around my neck.
“Am I about to get some free porn?” Rex asked. “Because I’m gonna need a bowl of popcorn first.”
“Oh, shut up.” Tate slapped him in the back of the head.
“God, damn it, Tate. That hurts.” He pulled her down beside him. “I swear, I’ma make you pay for that later.”
“Promises, promises.” She stuck out her tongue at him.
“If I had known you guys were going to be coupled up the whole night, I wouldn’t have come,” Max grumbled, taking another gulp of his beer. He was on his fourth or fifth mug.
I stared pointedly at Lyle, Chester, and Gina, who hadn’t come with anyone.
“They don’t count,” he muttered. “Chester is in love with food and eating out dirty bitches. While there’s nothing Lyle loves more than his own stench. Who’s dumb enough to date them.”
“Why didn’t you bring Jenna then?” Bran asked. He was sitting with Emma.
“I’m not in the mood for her.”
“In other words, you miss Beth,” Lyle pointed out. “Heard she was seen talking to Darby from the football team.”
Max’s head snapped towards him.
“I’m just kidding.” Lyle snickered.
Max punched him in the arm. “Don’t even play like that. Beth knows not to play with me.”
“This from the guy who cheats so much.” Bran scoffed.
“She knows it’s only about the sex for me. It’s not like I’ve got any feelings for any of these bitches.”
“I’m going to go get another round of drinks.” Face tight, Gina rose. “Come with me, Presley.”
“Sure.” Presley nodded, rising from my lap.
“You do know your girlfriend is about to flirt with the bartender for those drinks, right?” My cousin threw out there. “I saw her flirting with him for those ones from earlier.”
“Salty much,” Tate said, giving him a dirty look. “Presley wasn’t flirting with anyone. He was the one flirting with her, which she ignored.”
“Why so mad? I was simply stating what I saw,” Bran claimed.
“Because I know you only want to cause drama ‘cause you’re jealous,” Tate snapped. “And Emma is stupid for wasting her time with you.
