Chapter 13

Their first kiss was soft and tentative, both nervous about making the leap. But then a desperate longing took over, the kiss deepening into urgency and heat.

Without breaking contact from her lips, Alex slid her hands around Morgan’s waist, effortlessly lifting her up. Morgan wrapped both legs around her hips, ankles crossing behind Alex’s back as she carried her to the bedroom, lips still hungrily connected.

Gently laying Morgan down, Alex broke the kiss, eyes roaming her body with unrestrained want. Morgan trembled, feeling like every nerve was on fire under the smoldering gaze.

But instead of coming down on top of her, Alex suddenly flipped them over so that Morgan was straddling her. They paused, breathing hard, electricity charging the air. They were still for a moment, looking at each other for signs, until Alex caressed her face. The touch sparked Morgan into action.

Unable to hold back any longer, Morgan drove her hands into Alex’s hair, pulling her into a feverish kiss. As their body temperatures climbed and the oxygen in the room felt thicker, Morgan pulled back and sat astride Alex.

Alex brushed her fingertips against Morgan’s kiss-swollen lips and asked, “Are you okay with this?”

Morgan nodded and tightened her knees into Alex’s sides. She spoke slowly and clearly. “I want you. I need to feel you closer.” She cupped Alex’s face and drew her nearer, but the pilot expertly flipped them back over, pining Morgan deliciously beneath her.

Morgan wrapped her arms around Alex’s strong shoulders, body undulating instinctively against the torso pressed over her. She wanted to drown in Alex’s passion. Feel her raw power unleashed.

Alex planted her hands on either side of Morgan’s head. The erotic pressure of her holding herself just above her made Morgan feel dizzy with need.

Morgan slid her hands down Alex’s back, pulling her closer until her full weight pressed against her. Skin to skin, frantic heartbeats mingling, they moved together in a growing frenzy.

“You’re in control,” Alex rasped in her ear, her hot breath giving Morgan chills. She answered by wrapping her legs tightly around Alex’s hips, drawing her deeper into her aching heat.

Their lovemaking quickly turned primal, the world narrowing down to just tangled limbs, searing kisses, and building pleasure cresting in wave after wave of rapture.

After, they lay wrapped in each other’s arms, fingers lazily tracing over heated skin. Morgan pressed her lips to Alex’s heart, feeling it gradually return to a steady rhythm in time with her own.

Being with Alex felt different from any other sexual relationship from before. Morgan surmised there was a force beyond logic pulling them together, like finding a missing piece of her soul.

Basking in the afterglow, Morgan knew one night could never be enough. She wanted slow mornings curled up chatting in bed, playful snowball fights and cozy mugs of cocoa during winter vacations, stargazing on summer nights. She wanted a lifetime of memories with this woman who saw the real person she was. Her thoughts veered to such a degree that she had to constrain herself and slam on the mental brakes.
