The main character was likeable, and the story line was believable. Max easily read through the first chapter which left him with a cliffhanger. An accident trapped the guy underwater and caught against the dock as he worked to salvage the boat. Max continued reading into the second chapter, completely captured by the adventure.

He put the book down a few pages into the second chapter and laughed a chuckle as he wondered what he was worried about earlier. It's just a story. There was no way this book could drive a reader to commit such violent crimes. So far, it didn't suggest, discuss, or even hint about killing at all. Any connection to the deaths must be external, he thought. The story didn't even mention murder.
