I’d sent Georgia a text message earlier in the day and still had not heard from her. When I arrived home from the hospital, it was six o’clock. I had just finished changing when I heard my brothers downstairs.

“How were things at the hospital?” Nathan asked as he slid a bottle of beer across the island.

“Pretty good.”

“Glad to hear it, bro. Now tell us what’s going on between you and Georgia,” Conner spoke.

“What do you mean? Nothing is going on.”

“I beg to differ. She was out for blood during that racquetball game, and I know it wasn’t directed at me.”

“What happened last night?” Nathan asked.

“Nothing. We had sex and went to bed.” I brought the bottle up to my lips. “Oh, she did play the violin for me.”

“What?” Nathan’s brows furrowed. “She plays the violin?”

“Yes, and beautifully. She’s been playing since she was six years old.”

“So, she can play the violin perfectly, play racquetball like nobody’s business, she’s an OB/GYN and double board-certified? Shit.” He shook his head. “Is there anything she can’t do? I’m sorry, bro, but I have to ask about the sex.”

“Not that it’s any of your business, but she’s very talented.”

“I knew it. Damn it. It should have been me in Cabo, not you.” He pointed at me.

“I swear to God, Conner.”

He rolled his eyes. “You know I’m kidding.”

“You better be for the sake of your life.” Nathan chuckled.

“I am. I am. Chill out.”

“Come on. Let’s go down to Shaun and Jenni’s,” I said as I finished my beer and grabbed my guitar.

We walked out the sliding door, and as we passed Sebastian’s house, we heard a piano and violin being played.

“Wait.” I stopped my brothers.

My brothers and I walked up to the patio and opened the sliding door. Walking to the living room, we listened to Emilia and Georgia playing the song A Thousand Years. The corners of my mouth curved upward as we stood there and watched them. Sebastian walked over and placed his hand on my shoulder.

“I didn’t know she played the violin,” Sebastian spoke.

“She played a song for me last night.”

Georgia had her back turned and didn’t see us standing there. When they finished, we began to clap. She turned around, and our eyes locked on each other.

“My Georgia sunshine.” Conner grinned. “You and Emilia were amazing.”

“Thanks, Conner,” Georgia said.

“I think a tear or two might have sprung up.” Nathan smiled.

“We were on our way down to Shaun’s when we heard the music,” I spoke. “You both sounded great.”

“I don’t know if Jackson told you, but I also play the piano,” Conner said. “I’ll have you over one night and we can play something together.”

I glanced over at Conner, hooked my arm around his neck, and squeezed.

“Kidding, bro. Kidding.”

“Okay. Let’s head to Shaun and Jenni’s before they send the calvary after us.” Sebastian laughed as he grabbed his guitar.
