CHAPTER 18

DOMINICK

I’ve traveled to many places in the world, but Wyoming was not one of them. I was anxious to see where Jesse had chosen to spend the last three years.

The plan was to fly out tomorrow afternoon, then drive his Escalade back to Portland when we’d finished packing up his things.

We’d spent the last two weeks buying furniture and reorganizing everything. But no matter what we bought, or how we stored it, nothing would change the fact that this place was too small to contain Jesse’s love affair with designer clothes. Even though my man looked hot as fuck naked, dress him in clothing that was tailored to fit his body, and I had a hard time controlling myself. Seriously, he was fucking drool-worthy.

He knew it, too. All it took was one look at my face, and my pants, to figure out what I wanted. I just couldn’t get enough of him, no matter how many times we fucked. Good sex was easy, although I would put us in the great sex category. But the rest—the mundane stuff, like going grocery shopping or doing the laundry? With him, I loved all of it, boring or not.

My challenge right now was to pack for our week-long adventure. When you lived with a man worthy of the catwalk in New York City, it could deliver a torpedo directly into a guy’s ego. That shit didn’t usually bother me, but this time I’d be the one meeting his friends and former SEAL teammates, and I wanted to make a good first impression.

“Hey, babe? What’s the weather like in Wyoming in late May?”

Jesse walked in wearing charcoal-colored track pants and a black ‘Fallen Angel’ T-shirt that fit him like a glove. We’d just showered after a workout in the gym downstairs, and he’d opted for the low-slung track pants and tight-ass T-shirt instead of his usual designer threads. You’d think after living with him for almost two months, I’d be used to seeing him like this. But nope. I was still mesmerized every time.

“Highs around sixty-five to seventy, but in the forties at night.”

He smiled at me, and my heart fluttered. What the fuck was wrong with me? I wasn’t this schmoopy, love-sick asshole that just wanted to curl up with some guy on the sofa, the bed, the chair, or in the backseat of the car. But apparently, that’s what loving him had reduced me to.

God, I was such a goner for him.

“What’s wrong?” he chuckled.

Shaking my head, I grumbled, “Nothing.”

Jesse sat on the bed, watching me fold, unfold, and refold my socks for what must’ve been the fifteenth time. I kept taking them out of the suitcase, only to repack them almost immediately. I felt like a cat, turning around and around just to wind up in the same position I’d started in.

Chuckling, he put his hand over mine to stop me. “Babe, are you nervous?”

I rolled my eyes. “Pfft. No. Of course not.” And I wasn’t. Much.

“Then what’s wrong?” His blue eyes were like a shot of truth serum, making all my secrets just pour out of me.
