Notes on Virtually Yours

Virtually Yours, A Game for Solo Performer with Audience, premiered at Josie’s Cabaret and Juice Joint, San Francisco, as Version Beta 1.0 in March of 1994, produced by Donald Montwill and Jayne Wenger. Written and performed by Kate Bornstein, the play was directed by Jayne Wenger and featured the taped voice of David Cale as the Voice of the Computer.

J. Raoul Brody did the sound design. The lighting designer was Jim Cave. KayLynn Raschke designed and executed the set and costumes. Noreen C. Barnes assisted as dramaturge, and Shannon Coulter was the script girl. Buddy Montgomery and Brian Skaggs operated the sound and lights for the Josie’s run.

The show included cameo taped vocal appearances by J. Raoul Brody, Donald Montwill, Jayne Wenger, Tom Ammiano, Stafford, Mark Russell, Holly Hughes, Dan Hurlin, and David Harrison.

Virtually Yours went on tour as Version 2.0, the text of which follows in this volume.
