Nervously I stand in the baggage claim with a sign
that reads: The Sexy Gabe ready to hold it high as soon as I see him at the top of the escalator. I feel like I’ve been standing here looking ridiculous amongst the personal
drivers and other passengers loved ones, and just before I start to rethink my whole idea, I see him appear, my
indecision is erased and my arms fly up holding my sign. He sees me finally and I see as he reads my sign, a slow smile appears it reaches his eyes. I hear a few people behind me gush about the gorgeous man on the escalator and I feel
pride knowing that he’s mine.
Finally, his feet hit the floor and I’m running to him.
It feels like I’m moving in slow motion, and soon I’m
wrapped in his arms and lifted into the air. He hugs me
fiercely and as he brings me down, my body slides down his and I swear he’s got an erection. He kisses me finally and yep… that’s an erection.
“I missed you.” He whispers into my mouth.
“I missed you too.” I whisper back.
We finally separate after a few cleared throats and we head over to the baggage claim area for his plane. On the way back to the house, he sneaks glances at me with a smirk on his face as he drives with one hand on the wheel, the
other with a firm grip on my knee.
One of his interviews in Los Angeles went perfectly
and the other ended up offering the position to another
candidate earlier that morning. We ignored the elephant in the room and made gooey eyes at each other instead. He
seemed at ease, almost giddy while I feel like a thousand
pounds are weighing on my shoulders. I want to live in the moment, but then admitting to Mindy the other night that I did love him, keeps replaying in my mind.
Do I love him? Does he really love me? What are we
really doing here, playing house? We hardly know one
another. Ughh!
I feel like pulling my hair at all the questions ping
ponging in my brain. Gabe must sense it, as he’s now
looking at me with a strange look on his face. As he parks my car in the driveway, he shuts the engine off and turns to me.
“What’s happening in here?” He asks tapping me on
my forehead.
I sigh heavily. “Nothing and everything.” I say
avoiding eye contact.
“Is this about my job interviews?”
“No. Well kinda, okay, yes.” I finally say.
He sighs himself and then gets out of the car. I’m
stilled as to wondering if that was the end of the
conversation, until my door is opened and he’s in the crouching position beside me. He takes my hands and with
his stare commands my attention.
“Do you trust me?” He asks.
“I think I do.” My voice sounds so small.
“Then trust me when I say that I’m adding you into
the equation. I just need you to bear with me for a little bit more. Can you do that?”
I nod as he continues.
