Hearing is often the last sense to go. Is there music or other sounds you might like to have around you? Would you like someone to read a book, prayer, poem, or anything else in particular to you?

TIPS FOR LOVED ONES
People die as they have lived their livesâlet them be who they are. All they want to know from you is they are loved and accepted as themselves. There is no secret formula, just be loving and present.
People who are restless before they die are oftentimes looking for closure about something. Ask your loved one what they need to be at peace. Or try to gauge from what clues they drop if there is someone they need to see or something that needs to be said.
Do not interrupt, correct, or deny the feelings your loved one is expressing when they are dying. Itâs just plain rude! Besides they might be trying to tell you something and you might miss it by labeling it âhallucinating.â
No one wishes to be âsavedâ or ârescuedâ on their deathbeds. If they are religious or spiritual, they will lead the conversation. Donât impose your views. It does not bring them peace, and this is not about you (unless you are also dying on the exact same time scheduleâthen what the heck? Go ahead.).
A nice foot rub or hand-holding can mean the world to those who are ill. (One of my nice memories of when my grandmother was passing was rubbing her feet.)
Just a little pooch prompt: Someone needs to step in to take care of the house and pets if a loved one is in the hospital (in Chapter 8 you will decide on a permanent guardian).
