GOOD MORNING, THIS is Rick James with MoonNet Central News reporting from our studios at Peary. It’s Thursday, November 1st, 2040.

The news from Earth today is grim. The United States has accused North Korea of the theft of an undisclosed amount of weapons grade nuclear material from its Pantex facility near Amarillo, Texas. Sources say, the theft, which occurred in early June, was the result of a highly sophisticated operation North Korea orchestrated. This comes in the wake of several similar incidents from across the world that have resulted in a disturbingly sizeable amount of weapons grade nuclear material going missing.

The US has been moving assets into the Sea of Japan and using its bases in Japan as a forward staging area for a possible invasion of North Korea should diplomatic efforts fail. The US has been working closely with the leaders of Japan, South Korea, China, and Russia to find a diplomatic solution to this situation.

In local news from Peary, Robert Lee, administrator of the Peary Spaceport, announced today that phase one of the Peary Spaceport Implementation Plan is now complete. Lee said the spaceport is fully operational and already averaging three to five flights a week.
