Chapter Eight

Dax

Dax arrived for work the next day and he could not stop smiling. Mason was true to his word, holding Dax’s hand tightly as they walked onto the set and waiting with him while he had his makeup and hair done in his trailer. Both Payton and Deandra noticed the blissful expression on Dax’s face.

“I don’t need to ask how your date went last night since your face says it all,” Payton commented as he laid out his tools.

“The date was a bust, but I got what I wanted anyway.” He grinned in reply as Deandra primed his face.

“Tell us everything. You’re glowing. Like you just won an Oscar,” Deandra gushed.

“Even better. I won Mason.”

Payton and Deandra both squealed so loudly that Mason turned his head. They all smiled and waved at him, and he shook his head in response.

“You lucky shit. What happened?” Payton asked as he sat down on a stool.

“This cannot leave this trailer, understood?” Dax said. “You need to swear on your flat iron, Payton.”

Payton held the tool up to his chest with one hand and made a zipping motion to his lips with the other.

“I went on the date with Noah like I planned, but Mason had to accompany me as my security. The date was going well. Noah’s a great guy, and we have a lot in common. But it was more like when you meet a new friend that you click with right away, you know? Anyway, before we left the restaurant, Noah had to take an important call, but he asked me to join him at his hotel later for a nightcap. And of course, Mason had to escort me upstairs. Then, just as I was knocking on Noah’s hotel door, Mason tells me not to go in.”

Payton sighed. “Oh my God, it’s like a scene from one of your movies.”

“And then I got so mad at Mason I yelled at him. I said, you don’t want to act on our attraction, but you don’t want me to be with anyone else either. I called him a coward.”

“OMG! I can only imagine his face when you said that,” Deandra said as she sat down beside him.

“And then Mason totally lost it. He grabbed me and kissed me. I swore I melted into the carpet it was so damn hot.”

Deandra grabbed the facial mist and sprayed herself, Dax, and Payton. Both men laughed as they stared at her. “We all need to cool off. Keep going, Dax.”

“So, Noah opens the door, but Mason and I were so involved in our kiss that we didn’t notice him standing there until he coughed. And then he invites us both inside for a nightcap.”

“Holy shit, a badass Hollywood ménage. It’s like a gay porn version of The Bodyguard.”

“Then Mason growled at Noah and said ‘no way’ and he wouldn’t let go of me. Thankfully, Noah was good-natured about the whole thing. And then Mason and I headed home. I don’t remember anything about the car ride except we got so excited in his parking garage that we nearly fucked in the backseat.
