Even as he lay on the ground dying, even as his own warm blood soaked through his clothes and up near his chest, even as his life flashed before he eyes, Terry Stafford had to admit âeighty million dollars wonât buy you a new dickâ was a pretty boss line.
He had to come up with a better one before he clocked out.
Pain was part of what was happening to him, but, surprisingly, it wasnât the main thing. It was weird. He knew he was dying, losing a lot of blood through his dick (the irony was not lost on him), but the main sensation wasnât the pain but the sticky, wet blood soaking through his clothes. It was uncomfortable. Terry hated being dressed and wet, and this was the worst.
His mind flashed to the filming of one of his movies, a romantic comedy called Love Tips. The cast had called it Just The Tip on set, even though it was about as standard a romantic comedy as had ever existedâmistaken identities, lack of communication, a spunky love interest, and a big, long kiss at the end. In this particular flick, the kiss had been in the rain, and Terry, then much more fit and desirable, had spent what felt like days on set in the fake rain, getting more and more drenched in his costume. It was the worst, and from that point on he had his contracts adjusted to make sure heâd never have to do a scene in the water ever again.
That life seemed like it happened a million years ago and belonged to someone else, but his hatred for being wet endured.
He heard Taylor make it to the closet during his tussle with Jaff and he knew she would probably make a break for it at some point. In preparation, he worked his meaty hands into his pocket and pulled out his Jumbo Jack Knife.
The Jumbo Jack Knife was created by the United Machine Tool Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan in the 1950s and was purchased, likely second hand, by Terryâs father, who gave it to him on Christmas morning of 1971. It was the only Christmas gift his father had ever given him and, of course, it was contraband. His mother took it from him, but Terry stole it back without her knowledge as a young boy and had carried it every day of his life. His therapist had once told him it was a bad idea from a healing standpoint. Maybe so, Terry thought, but it was sure going to come in handy in a couple seconds.
He saw Taylor make a break for it, clocked Jaff notice her, and pulled the knife out of his pocket. Summoning up every bit of strength he had left, he waited until Jaff got in range and plunged the knife into the crazy manâs calf. It was surprisingly easy to get the knife into the flesh, easier than Terry would have thought. While he put everything he had into the stab, it wasnât that deep and served only to slow him down.
