Her cheeks flushed bright red and his grin only grew wider as he walked up to the second level of his apartment and down a hallway to his bedroom. She waited until she heard the shower running before she followed him. It wasn’t the first time she’d been in his bedroom, but it felt different than before. She looked at the bed and a tremor ran down her spine. Being alone with Noah in his bed during the early hours of the morning seemed like it could only lead to one thing.

She couldn’t complain though. Watching how hard he had worked in the cage had only been an aphrodisiac. Legal or not, Noah was a good fighter. He was a well-oiled machine. His muscle memory alone was impressive.

They needed to have a real conversation, though. Noah had all but disappeared from her life until he’d shown up after her class. She needed to find a foothold and get a grasp on what their relationship was or wasn’t. More importantly, she needed to be sure Noah wasn’t getting himself into anything he couldn’t get out of.

She walked over to the expensive dresser on the left side of Noah’s room and started searching for something suitable to wear to bed. She dug out a plain cotton T-shirt and was beginning to pull her own shirt over her head when another set of hands joined her.

“Fast shower,” she mumbled beneath her breath, feeling the damp skin of Noah’s hands coasting over her sides as he helped pull her shirt up.

“I told you I just needed to rinse off.” His hot breath hit her neck in a rush as he lowered a kiss to her newly bared shoulder. A shiver ran through her body, sending tingles from the roots of her hair to the tips of her toes. With her shirt off, the heat of his chest behind her penetrated her skin, sending delicious goose bumps to flutter across her.

She made a small sound in response and lifted his shirt. “Can I put this on?”

“Do you really need it?”

“Noah, we’ve been over this before.” She took a small step to the side and pulled the shirt over her head. Once it fell to its full length, she unbuttoned her jeans and slid them down her legs.

He seemed unable to pull his gaze away from the shapely curves of her legs and the way his shirt draped across her body. He stared at her like he believed she was utterly gorgeous, even though she never felt like it. His body had to be exhausted, but despite the lack of energy, she could see something beginning to swell between his legs and under his towel.

“Doesn’t mean I have to like it,” he grumbled as he made his way to the bed, pulling the sheets back.

Caitlyn sent him a short look and crossed her arms beneath her chest. “I know you’re tired, but we have to clarify things.”

He groaned and raked a hand through his dark hair. “It’s nearly two in the morning.
