We said goodbye to my family and headed back to my house.

“You were having fun tonight.” I smiled.

“I was.” A wide grin crossed Grace’s face. “Dancing with the girls was the most fun I’d had in a long time.”

“I can dance.”

“Then why weren’t you dancing with us?”

“I prefer something slower.” I held out my hand to her with a smile. “Alexa, play Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton.”

The corners of her mouth curved upward as she placed her hand in mine. The song started to play, and we swayed back and forth to the music. Letting go of my hand, she wrapped her arms around my neck as my arm wrapped around her waist.

“I have to admit, Detective Kind, you’re a good dancer.”

“So are you, Detective Adams. Tomorrow night is the gender reveal party for Julia and Celeste, and you’re going with me.”

“Are you asking me or telling me?” A smirk crossed her lips.

“I’m telling you.”

“Ah, I see. Do you remember when I told you that I don’t like people telling me what to do?”

“I remember. Let me apologize for my rude behavior.” I leaned in and brushed my lips against hers as my hands gripped her taut ass.

“That’s some apology, but I’m not quite convinced you’re really sorry.”

The corners of my mouth curved upward as I swooped down, picked her up, and carried her up the stairs to my bedroom.
