Rage built, twisting in Randy’s thoughts as he listened to the music, letting it sink into his heart and turn his soul dark. Randy couldn’t stand the music any longer. He picked up the player, yanking the cord from the wall, and roared as he tossed the device across the room. The mostly plastic player bounced across the floor, not even breaking. He crumpled to the ground, his memories of their time together raking over his soul, damning him for all time. He wasn’t special to Greg and that, more than seeing his mother killed in front of him, made him feel worthless. There was nothing left for him here.
