Forty-five minutes after Ezra left me to get ready for our date, I knock on his door. I don’t know if he wanted to come get me, but I figure since we live across the hall from each other, it probably doesn’t make a difference.
When he swings the heavy door open, I swear his jaw nearly hits the floor.
“Holy. Shit.” He eyes me up and down, and his gaze sends a shiver through me. If he doesn’t stop looking at me like that, I’m going to drag him back to my apartment and have my way with him.
“Hi,” I say once his eyes finally land on mine. Apparently, he likes what he sees.
“Hey, beautiful.” He pulls me into his arms. “I don’t know if I want to take you anywhere tonight looking like that.”
I chuckle into his mouth once we part from our kiss. Tonight, I’m wearing straight-legged jeans and a red cap-sleeved shirt that dips between my breasts. I was kind of freaking out, okay, a lot freaking out, so Sydney helped me decide what to wear. I owe her big time.
I pull away from him, deciding it’s my turn to appreciate his attire. He’s wearing a pair of dark-washed jeans that should be illegal to wear, because they’d cause any woman with a pulse to drool. On his upper half, he’s wearing a blue plaid, short-sleeved, button-up. Usually I see him in gym shorts and a T-shirt, and he’s fine as hell in them, but I like this look on him.
Twenty minutes later, we arrive at Figg’s Pizzeria. I’ve heard people at the gym talk about this place, and if the smell is anything to go by, the pizza is going to be to die for.
The small building reminds me of a place I visited in Florida with Sydney when she went to school out there. Everything is decorated in red and white checkers, including the walls, tablecloths, and curtains. It’s a bit outdated but homey at the same time.
The hostess leads us to a table and Ezra’s hand rests on my back. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy his touch.
“Your waiter will be right with you.”
Once we’re left alone, I grab a menu from the end of the table.
“What’s good here?” I ask him as I peek over it.
“I like the Hawaiian.” He raises his eyebrows at me. “Please tell me you’re not a pineapple pizza hater?”
A laugh bursts out of my mouth.
Pineapple is possibly the best pizza topping, but I decide to let him stir in his seat a little. I rest my chin in my hands as my elbows rest on the table.
“If you tell me you don’t like it, I’m not sure we’re going to make this work.” He waves a finger between us, and I can tell he’s trying not to crack a smile.
“Hi, I’m Sasha. I’ll be taking care of you tonight. Are you ready to order?”
I smile up at the blonde. “Yeah, we’ll have a large Hawaiian, two waters, and a pitcher of Corona.
