CHAPTER FIVE
H aving my family pry into my life hadn’t resulted in the same soul zapping, energy depletion that happened every other trip. My mother’s snide comments had been minimal, but the questions had been never ending. I loved my family dearly, but they could be draining.
When we entered my old room, sleep was the last thing on my mind. I accredited the fire and arousal flowing through my veins to Stefano. My craving for him outweighed all other needs. Including my need for self-preservation.
He set me on my feet and the hunger in his eyes matched mine. “Have you been with him in this bed?”
I looked away and nodded. A framed photo of Darren and I at prom hung by the white dresser. He was in at least half of the family pictures scattered across the walls. Darren had been my first love. While I hadn’t lost my virginity in this room, our options had been limited. He’d been a huge part of my life. Until he wasn’t.
“Ancient history. Let’s not dwell on the past,” I said, tugging Stefano’s shirt off.
My hands drifted over his six-pack. His muscles flexed and responded to my touch. A noticeable bulge strained against his pants. I unbuckled his belt.
“It’s not so long ago. Love doesn’t erase with the hands of the clock.” He removed my shirt and my nipples puckered. He pushed down the cups of my bra and rolled the elongated tips between his index and thumbs. “Seeing him still does something to you.”
“No. Being with you does something to me,” I admitted. I didn’t want to talk about my ex. Not with Stefano teasing my nipples. I unbuttoned his fly and yanked his pants and underwear down. They dropped to the floor. “I want you.”
He growled. The visceral need I heard caused my insides to quiver. “I want to erase everyone from your past until the only man you think about is me.” He released my nipples and tilted my chin, forcing my eyes to meet his. “Let me make love to you.”
Yes, please!
Our clothes flew off in rapid succession. After we stripped, I tackled him to the floor. “The bed makes too much noise,” I breathed against his neck.
My childhood bed creaked with the slightest shift. The metal frame and the old mattress would have announced our actions to the neighborhood within seconds. My solar system bedspread wouldn’t be enough to muffle the noise. I nibbled on his earlobe and kissed along his jaw. His lips tasted like peppermint. I cupped his face and kissed him hard.
He moaned into my mouth and twirled his tongue around mine. We moved into a seated position with me straddling his lap. His hands gripped my ass as he aligned our lower bodies. His erection jutted between us. He reached one hand towards his bag and fumbled with the zipper.
“Can you grab a condom? The zipper won’t budge for me.”
I rotated my hips, teasing him. “Let me work my magic.” I leaned towards his bag.
