Back at campus, I find the beautiful Sabella on a bench under a tree. The wind blows a light breeze, causing billowing trees to dance shadows amongst her. She’s wearing a cotton blue dress with white flats today, her nose stuck in a book. She looks like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. How fitting. The beauty and the beast. Only…my endings never fall on happy notes.
Rubbing my chin, I head her way, and like always, she senses me before seeing me. Her delicate eyes gaze above the spine of her book.
“Sebastian!” she greets happily, standing to hug me. I wrap my arms around her and smell her. Fresh laundry. My dick has grown to love that scent. I can’t stand in the laundry room without getting a hard-on.
“Hey, is everything okay?” I ask in my most gentle tone, when really, all I want to do is tangle my hand in her hair and kiss her stupid.
“Yeah, just a rough day. Wanted to see a friendly face, I guess.” She waves me off, tucking her dress under her before sitting back on the bench.
“We could have met in your bed if you really wanted to get friendly.” I wink, and her face pales. She clears her throat and begins to fiddle with her book nervously. Shit, she didn’t like that. She’s not like other girls I talk to. They usually like the arrogant dirty talk.
But that only makes me want her more.
I fucking knew she was special. Different from all the other girls.
“I was just playing, Sab.” I run my finger over her arm, reassuring her my intentions are noble. Her head snaps up, gray eyes finding mine.
“Oh.” She chuckles. There she is. Looks like I’m going to have to work for this one. I like that about her. She’s already standing above the rest of the women in my life.
“So, what’s going on?”
Her face takes a dip of innocence, and it kills me from the inside out. I want to hold her, get close. In any other situation, I’d slide up next to her, grab her by the hip, and kiss her worries away. But I can’t. Instead, I rest my hand on top of hers, letting her know I’m here for her.
“Is it Wra—Sam?” Shit, I need to make sure I keep his fucking name straight.
“Yeah, Sammy. He hasn’t really been around lately, which sucks. We are so close, but also trying to juggle school and all. You know?” Sammy. Her little name for him cracks me up.
“I get it.”
She looks up at me and smiles. It’s like she knows me—like she sees me. “I probably shouldn’t have texted you.”
“Why?” I ask.
She shrugs, and my eyes fall to her collarbone. I’d love to lick up it, my hands wrapped around her…
“I mean, it’s hard. He’s never really had many friends and then he starts here and I see him with people all the time now. It’s good for him, but I worry I’m losing him. Does that make sense?”
I tear my gaze away from her throat and look into her eyes.
