Hillary Communes with George

“I’m proud to tell you, as I have so many others, that I’ve always been a praying person,” said Hillary Rodham Clinton.

“I might believe that now,” replied George W. Bush, “but there’s no way you were in college.”

“I certainly was.”

“I hear you used to walk around campus, carrying books by Marx and Lenin and Mao.”

“Those were strictly for class. Besides, I always had a bible in my purse. At Yale you definitely weren’t a praying person.”

“I was praying my damn hangovers would go away. Listen, I’ve admitted I didn’t turn my life over to Jesus until I was forty. And thank God, He’s saved me and continues to guide me in a profound spiritual way. Democrats are jealous of my divine access.”

“I’m not like most of them,” she said. “I talk about religion more every year, and pretty soon God’s name will be in my speeches as much as in yours. Many times I actually feel like a preacher in the pulpit as I urge my parishioners to not merely accept religious people but to embrace them and rejoice that they have the conviction to ‘live out their faith in the public square.’”

“Amen. That’s exactly why Republicans have been beating Democrats. We stand for things, like no abortion.”

“I’m also strong on that issue. Don’t pretend otherwise. I’ve gone before pro-choice groups and told them that abortion is ‘a sad, even tragic choice for many women (and that) religious and moral values’ enable many teenage girls to say no to libidinous boys.”

“Like your husband.”

“Exactly.”

“I think you Democrats are trying to move in on Middle America.”

“We are Middle America.”

“You were. Now most of you are clinging to godless regions along the coasts.”

“Not anymore. We’re conquering the new moral high ground, just as the ‘religious left’ has so often done. We were the leaders of anti-slavery crusades and the New Deal and the civil rights movement. Now I’m leading the fight against immigrants invading this country. ‘I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants…People have to stop hiring them.’ I’m going to make sure we enhance border security. ‘There’s technology now available…advanced radar systems...and other identification systems that we’ve been very slow to deploy and unwilling to spend money on.’”

“You’re not as strong as I am on immigration,” he said. “I’m sending thousands of National Guard troops to strengthen our border.”

“You’re pretty damn late. You and your Republican big-business cronies are the ones hiring illegal immigrants. They wouldn’t be here otherwise.”

“How many nominees in your husband’s administration were lost because they’d hired illegal nannies?”

“That wouldn’t happen in a Hillary Clinton administration. And beware – I’m just as formidable on defense. I backed your Iraq war resolution in 2002 and have since steadfastly reiterated my support. We must give the Iraqis plenty of time to stabilize their government and train powerful security forces.”

“No one’s as determined to help Iraq as I am.”

“You’re amazing, all right. Not many who’ve done what you’ve done would have the brass to fly into the Green
