Sabrina

Everything has been going great. Tomorrow I start my first night at the bar. I have training for two weeks on the drink menu and how to work the register. Matty and I are great. We talk and hang out, but no sex since that night two weeks ago. I have been busy and so has he with school and football practice. I smile to myself. I have fallen in love with Matt. When we have been together and always at his place, we watch movies and order food until I fall asleep just like old times. We kiss, but that's it. I feel a little deflated and I'm scared of ruining what we have right now by asking him about it. He had a game last week, but I was too scared to go and he didn’t ask me to come either. It was weird because even as the mascot in high school, Matt loved when I watched him play. This last week has been off but we have just begun dating and do not want to come off as clingy. This is all knew to me. I’ve never had a boyfriend and the only date I have been on is with Matt. Pathetic, I know. I'm closing in my textbook and my phone vibrates. I pick it up and it's a text from Matt.

Matty: We need to talk. I need to tell you something.

A knot forms in my stomach and a cold dreaded fear creeps up.

Sabrina: Is everything ok?

Matty: I want you to hear it from me. I'm downstairs in my car.

Sabrina: I'll be right down.

I throw a hoodie over my tank top and leggings and head to meet him in the parking lot. Apprehension fills my gut when I see his black Mustang in the parking lot of my dorm building. He was acting weird yesterday, but I didn't think it had anything to do with me. We haven't talked about us being official or anything. We are best friends and we had sex. That's it. I'm a big girl but it doesn't change the fact that my friendship as turned into love. I'm in love with him. The dark tinted window slides down as I approach the blacked-out car.

"Get in."

I open the door slowly and slide inside his car. The scent of leather and his cologne hits me. His solemn expression tells me something is wrong. Very wrong. He looks at me and I tilt my head, knowing that what he is about to say, is going to hurt me. I lower my gaze and brace myself for what he wants to tell me.

"Sabrina," he says softly.

"Yes, Matty."

He closes his eyes. "I need you to understand that what I'm about to say. Has nothing to do with you and it's something that I didn't want to happen."

I frown, confused. "What's wrong, Matty. You can tell me, and we can work it out," I say, my voice soft.

"Gina's pregnant," he blurts.

My eyes grow wide, leaving me speechless.

"She told me last week.
