The long walk home begins, I’m too exhausted to be devastated. I know once the exhaustion passes crazier thoughts will be entering my brain, like did I look that ugly that he did not recognise me. Why didn’t he recognise me?

Fiddling with my iPhone, trying to find the perfect song to get me on my way, a truck passes, splashing the muddy storm water all over me, he meant that! I can see him in his mirror laughing. The water was kind of cooling, gross, but cooling; let’s look at the positives here. And smells!! OMG is there a theme here. Why does everything that happens lately smell like shit, including me right at this moment? I not only look like shit, I smell like it also! Can my day get any worse? CJ’s probably married, and I look and smell like shit, that is three, it always comes in threes! I’m not actually sure why but everyone always says that?

It has started raining again, or so I thought, but the sky was blue, looking up not a cloud in the sky. Weird! I definitely felt a rain drop a big one in my hair; I put my hand on my head to wipe the drop out of my hair so I doesn’t drip onto my face I could feel it running down.

“Oh God, NO! Do not let this be true! For fuck’s sake,”

I’m jumping up and down trying to get the disgusting mess out of hair, arms waving everywhere. “Why me? Why me? Why me? YUCK!!! A Bird just shit on me! You’ve got to be kidding, this is ridiculous”

The LA roads are starting to get busy with the Sunday morning hustle and bustle, and I am definitely not looking my best. I look like a homeless person, who has stolen someone’s running gear, so I take a back alley home.

It is a little bit longer than the main roads, but I am certainly away from the view of anyone I know, which in LA is not many. Or anyone, I may possibly meet in the future, which in infinite. Believe me no one needs to see me like this.

Taking the short cut down another back alley, which the GPS on my phone has said is a good option, was just dumb! There is no possible way through! There are pallets of papers lining the alley with no way around. It is too far to go back as I had already walked over 100 meters down, I was too exhausted to turn around, so the only way around, was over!

The pallets are wrapped with heavy plastic. I hold onto this as I attempt to climb over, my hands sweaty and slippery, I fall straight onto the pavement below, taking the heavy plastic cling wrap with me, and a thousand flyers.

Today is just not my day!!!

I sit on the ground for a moment feeling sorry for myself, and the colourful flyer catches my eye.

‘Live the Life’ boldly written across the top.
