She knew the âno animalâ part was for Logan, and it made her happy. He had to have received the same memo that morning. She could bet how unhappy heâd been to open that email. Her fellow contest goers had to stop with their Starbucks gift cards, and she had to stop feeding gelato to everyoneâs kid.
Logan would be there, and she couldnât help but wonder how seeing him again would go. As far as Diana was concerned, the ball was in his court.
Diana needed to remember her priorities, and they didnât involve sleeping with an ex-boyfriend.
Just as she decided to get out of bed and work on her ideas for the luxury homes challenge, there was a knock on her door. If it was a DâSalvo, specifically one with a snaggletooth, she was going to have a fit and maybe try her new bear spray.
But it wasnât a DâSalvo who waited on the other side of the door. Logan stood before her, dressed in jeans and a black t-shirt, holding a shotgun in his hand. Diana stepped aside so that he could get off her porch. He leaned his gun against her wall and then pulled her into his arms.
âTook you long enough,â she said, looping her arms around his neck.
âAs I told you, Iâm not twenty-two. With maturity comes a certain amount of restraint,â he replied as he lifted her into his arms and headed straight for the bedroom. So much for small talk. âBesides, you never left me your phone number.â
âYou could have found it on the website. Anyway, I happen to think that maturity is overrated,â she said as he deposited her on the edge of the mattress. Remembering back to how they used to be with each other, Diana quickly tossed off her nightie and leaned back against her pillows, waiting for him to get rid of his offensive clothing.
As Logan tore away his clothing, Dianaâs focus fell to the impressive, immediate erection as she reached into her nightstand drawer and pulled out a condom.
âI was hoping you might stop by,â she said with a smile as she held up the foil-wrapped condom. Suddenly the three days that had passed seemed insignificant; apparently, he needed the time to figure out his next move â regardless, she was glad he was here.
He gave her a roughish smile and grabbed the condom from her raised hand.
His reaction to her had certainly not changed. When he slid into her arms, covering her nakedness with his own, she sighed contently. How quickly they fell into their old patterns.
He kissed every inch of her body returning again and again to her lips until her mouth was swollen and her body throbbed with need. When she tried to turn the tables on him and torture him in the same, exquisite way, he had none of it, holding her wrists above her head until she squirmed with desire.
âLogan, please,â she whimpered as she spread her legs and tried to capture him.
âLet meâ"
âPatience,â he said as he released her wrists.
