Dani was stretched out, reading on the starboard settee, as Liz snoozed on the port settee. The satellite phone rang from the nav station, startling Dani. She scrambled to answer it so it wouldn't wake Liz. Pressing the answer button to stop the ringing, she darted up the companionway ladder into the cockpit.

She could hear Angie's voice faintly as she climbed the ladder. "Hello? Dani? Liz? Anybo — "

"Angie?" Dani asked, putting the phone up to her ear.

"Yes. I thought the connection was bad."

"Sorry about that. I wanted to get outside before I spoke. I was trying to keep from waking Liz. She's napping."

"Oh. I hope I did not disturb her. Luke told me she was shopping with Sandrine and Rachel."

"She got back about an hour ago. Rachel's gone with Sandrine and Phillip to meet Lucie's flight. Liz was exhausted from our overnight sail, not to mention keeping up with Sandrine. That woman's an Olympic-class shopper."

Angie laughed.

"Go ahead and put it on speaker," Liz said, coming up into the cockpit. "I'm awake."

Dani thumbed the button on the phone and set it on the cockpit table.

"Hello, Angie," Liz said.

"Sorry to wake you, Liz."

"It's all right. I just needed a few minutes to recover from the day. What's new?"

"Has Dani told you about her call from Luke?"

"Yes," Liz said. "We covered that. He said you were busy with another part of the investigation. What have you learned?"

"We found the plane that brought Rachel and Reggie to St. Martin. Reviewing the inbound clearances at the airport with customs and immigration on the Dutch side paid off. We found two private flights from Miami that arrived at about the right time on the day Rachel got here. One was a charter with seven passengers, which we ruled out for now. The other carried only two passengers besides the crew.

"The passengers presented U.S. passports identifying them as Reginald James Barrett and Melissa Higgins Barrett, both 19 years old. Rachel looks enough like the photograph of Melissa to get past a tired immigration agent. I've sent copies of the passports to Luke. He's going to handle the follow-up. Both of them passed the scan at the airport; they were issued by the U.S. Department of State. Our best guess is that Reggie's is part of a carefully constructed false identity, and Melissa's is stolen and has not yet been reported."

"That's progress," Dani said. "What about the plane? Who owns it?"

"A corporation, Sky Fetish LLC. Luke is working on that."

"He told you about Reggie's car and the traffic stops, right?" Dani asked.

"Yes. The Richard Barstow identity. They're still waiting for the facial recognition search to finish so they can determine whether he has an arrest record. Luke will also have them check the passport photo against the driver's license. Testing for a match between two photographs is much faster than doing a one-to-many search. Did you show those mugshots to Rachel yet?"

"Not yet," Dani said. "We're expecting to join everybody at Phillip and Sandrine's for dinner in the next hour or so.
