Shane finished his shower and dressed with time to spare. Justin wasnât due for a good half hour. The book heâd picked up earlier sat in a bag on the kitchen counter by the door so he wouldnât forget it. Maybe he was stepping on toes, maybe he wasnât. Everything was still so new between them. But Shane wanted to help.
He also had a duffel packed, in case Justin wanted him to stay over. Shane hadnât seen much of Justinâs apartment the two times heâd been inside, only the living room and kitchen. It seemed a nice enough place, though. The right size for someone on his own.
Headlights came through the curtains as Justin pulled into his driveway. Shifting from one foot to the other, heâd wait for Justin to come to the door. This was a date, after all.
After Justin knocked, Shane picked up his two bags and then opened the door. âHi.â Shit. He was almost nervous.
âHi.â Justin smiled. âYou look nice. Ready?â
âThanks. You look good too. Whereâre you taking me?â Shane asked.
âA little place I know. Itâs usually not too crowded on Fridays. Now, Saturdays are a different story.â He nodded toward the bags in Shaneâs hands. âWhat you got there?â
âLater. Iâm hungry, and you promised to feed me.â
Justin laughed. âThat I did.â He led the way to his car and walked around to the driverâs side. âIâve been excited about this all week.â
Shane looked at Justin over the top of the car. âI have been too.â It had truly been a long week, and he hadnât gotten to see Justin since Sunday when heâd dropped him off. Theyâd talked a couple of times on the phone, but one of them was either in the middle of something or about to go to bed. Not that Shane minded staying up late. Justin had been the one who insisted on cutting the calls short. If Shane couldnât see the excitement in Justinâs face now, he might have been worried something was amiss. But no. They seemed to be all good.
They climbed into Justinâs car. Before they could fasten seat belts, Shane leaned over to kiss Justinâs lips. âNext time you pick me up for a date, that better be the first thing you do.â
âIâm sorry, Master.â Justin grinned.
âYou donât look sorry,â Shane said with his own grin.
âI guess weâre even in the punishment department, then,â Justin said.
Huh? âPunishment?â Shane asked. What in the world could he possibly have done to warrant punishment? Ohâ¦. Yeahâ¦. Not following the rules in bed. He couldnât stop his grin from widening. âIâll take that punishment anytime.â
Justin laughed and shook his head. âYouâre incorrigible.â
