Once the cafe was cleaned up and shut down, the girls kicked through the snow on Main and made their way to Aria's car. Aria had offered Lucy a ride home, and while Lucy could certainly walk herself home, she was much more keen to spend a little more time with Aria. There were only a few cars out, driving through the snow and slush, a rare sight this early in the evening. But the snow was ceaseless, and it wasn't a great time to be out driving.

Aria's sedan was completely covered in snow where it was parked in the lot behind Main Street. There were a few other cars still parked there, all of them similarly covered. When the girls walked up to the car, all Aria could do was laugh.

"This is absurd," she said. "Do you see this?"

"Yep," Lucy replied with a laugh. She stepped up to Aria's car and used her forearm to knock the snow from one of the backseat windows. The thick, wet snow tumbled to the ground, as did a bit of snow from the roof.

"With the snow from last night," Aria said, kicking at some of the snow near her tire. "What is this? Like a foot?"

"I don't know," offered Lucy. "It's close."

"I don't know if my car is even capable of getting through this," Aria lamented. Her dark glasses were flecked with snowflakes. She had a look of disappointment on her face, a look of defeat. Lucy noticed it immediately and felt bad for her.

"Why don't we just walk to my place?" Lucy proposed. "Leave your car here. Fuck it. Even if we got it out, you know the roads are going to be garbage."

"But I need to get home to take care of my Dad," argued Aria. She was obviously torn from the expression on her face.

"Your Mom planned on you working until close tonight," Lucy pointed out. "She expected she'd have to make dinner and take care of him, right?"

"Right..."

"So it's okay," Lucy said with a smile and shrug. "Besides, your Mom is not going anywhere in this. And we shouldn't either. It'll probably be cleaned up by morning. We can dig your car out then."

Aria paused for a minute, considering Lucy's words. She stared at her car as she weighed the options. In the short time they had been standing there, a thin veil of snow had already peppered the backseat window that Lucy had brushed off.

"Okay," Aria said with acceptance after another moment of thought. "Okay, yeah. Let's just walk to your place."

Lucy smiled and nodded in agreement.
