After another day of singing carols and decorating sweet wafers, Esla and I return to our lair. She’s flushed from the heat, commenting that winters on Etalia are not like the ones she’s experienced at home, and I guess that means it’s too hot for her. I think the muggy air feels great, reminding me so much of home, but Hollis mentioned that humans don’t always like so much heat. I glance down at Esla’s red cloak as she unties the string and sets it aside, taking a moment to stare at her gorgeous frame.

And yes, it’s a gorgeous frame. Esla can say whatever she wants about how males treated her on Earth, but those males are fools if they could not appreciate her. Esla’s delicate curves leave me nearly groaning with need, all but squirming in my seat at the end of a long day of participating in Hollis’ holiday activities. All I can think about is tearing off Esla’s cloak, claiming her mouth, and carrying her to bed. I want that so badly and more even now that I advance on so quickly, she doesn’t have time to react.

She wraps her arms tightly around my neck, still in familiar territory, and I gently lift her body from the floor and carry her to the bed. When I find a free moment to take a breath, I pull away, staring down at Esla, who is spread out on her back beneath me. Even now, I smell her desire for me.
