First to find Duke in the kitchen are Phoenix and Bailey Doyle. They saunter in, Bailey holding Mia Belle in her arms while Nix walks behind her pressing himself into her back. “Would you please?” she scolds. “I just took care of one of those. How the hell do you get hard so…Oh!”
“Hello, darlin’, bring that angel to me. And you tell your man to deal with those on his own, you’ve got enough on your hands.”
“Cheerio, partner,” Nix, ever the comedian teases his sister’s cowboy father-in-law. “I prefer her mouth anyway.”
Duke King laughs, of course he enjoys Nix’s crude humor. He extends his hand in greeting then accepts the baby from Bailey as Graham chases Emory into the room with a towel around his waist and nothing else.
“This place is crazier than the ranch in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” Duke laughs.
“She’s got an ass whopping coming her way,” Graham growls. “Grab her, old man.”
Duke raises a brow at his son while laughing and managing to snatch his daughter-in-law up in his free arm while still holding the tiny pink bundle that is Mia Belle Doyle. “Old man, huh, boy? Now, easy there, Em,” he says holding her on his knee. “You know you’re only making it harder on yourself, or your ass. What’d you do this time to ruffle his feathers?”
Emory is the American version of this group’s Phoenix Doyle. She’s either sassing one of the guys, sharing a raunchy joke with Duke, or playing a prank. Today it was a prank and her husband was the butt of the joke. Pun intended.
“Go ahead and show them, Graham” Emory suggests with a giggle as Hunter and Arizona join the breakfast party.
“Show us what?” Hunter asks. “Why are you in a towel?”
“Look what my wife did this time” Graham states as he lets his towel drop to show the room the lettering on his ass that says, “Em’s Bitch”.
The women gasps, close their eyes, then decide the hell with it and have themselves a peek.
Duke laughs from his belly and Hunter warns his brother to cover up while Nix high fives Emory.
“That’s what you get for bending over for your woman,” Duke says. “I’ve warned you about that, son. Now go get dressed. I got a good one for your girl.”
Emory climbs off her father-in-law’s lap and kisses Graham on the nose. “Listen to your daddy,” she orders with a smack to his ass making him cringe. “Go get dressed,” then she adds, “Bitch” with a chuckle.
“Laugh now, Smoke, because later, when he’s not here to protect you, your ass in mine.”
Emory raises her eyebrows and smirks at her husband as he turns to get dressed.
“Who cooked?” Ari asks. “It smells so good.”
The gang all make plates and gather around the table.
“Asher and Harper were fuckin’ around when I got here. I’m guessing Harper made this spread before she made that poor boy fire one off in his running shorts.”
Nix smirks at that piece of information and doesn’t even try to hide it.
