Over the next few days Violette did begin to thaw, somewhat. It seemed to have less to do with Belle however, and much more to do with the castle as it started to undergo a wondrous transformation.

While the weather outside got ever more unwelcoming, inside the castle warmth spilled from every corner as hearths were lit, and mantles adorned.

Stifling a yawn one particularly cold morning, Belle looked to her handmaiden as she picked up a hand carved figurine from above the fireplace. It had appeared overnight while she slept, and Violette blushed a deep pink but smiled nonetheless. It was a sight for sore eyes.

"I'm sorry your grace, I couldn't help it."

Tilting her head Belle merely spun the little man around. He wore a red overcoat, and a tiny crown of gold, with a wild beard and mustache, and long black boots. On his back he carried a sack, and he looked like a rather jovial character.

"And who might this be?" Belle asked sleepily, admittedly a little enchanted by the whimsical carving.

"Well, he doesn't really have a name. He's more like, the spirit of the season." Violette's words tumbled free from her lips as stars took up residence in her eyes.

"And what season is that?" Belle continued and Violette clapped her hands together, seemingly back to her usual self, at least for the time being.

"The Giving Season your grace! T'is upon us."

Grinning, Belle poured herself a cup of tea, taking a seat at the breakfast table.

"I wish to know all about it."
