Greg

With the loss of Sadie pushed to the back of his mind, Greg held Jasper close. Kissed him with as much fervor as before.

It's too soon, his heart said.

He needed this.

Greg pulled Jasper alongside him, insisting they get to the bedroom. Jasper wasn't far behind him, placing light kisses on his lips. His forehead. Behind his ear. Biting down on his sensitive flesh.

Greg shivered as much from the bite as Jasper’s aggression.

“Upstairs. Now,” Greg said between kisses.

Jasper followed his lead, letting go long enough to make sure he didn't fall up the stairs. “Which way?”

“There.” Greg nodded down the hall. “That one.”

Jasper crushed Greg’s lips with his own, pinning him to the wall. The bedroom was close, but the wall was closer. He could’ve taken Greg right here, and neither one would’ve cared.

Jasper kissed the side of his neck. His lips again.

With a little more urgency, Greg fell into the moment, guiding Jasper toward the bedroom. Across the threshold. Time stopped. Paused as Greg studied Jasper—the edge of a tattoo peeked from under a sleeve. Greg’s mouth watered at the thought of seeing it. The body art as well as the man wearing it.

Greg was completely focused on Jasper. On his lips. His eyes, and how badly they both needed this.

“Wait.” Jasper stopped Greg as he reached for the buckle of his pants. “You sure you're okay with this? I’m not gonna lie. I want this. I’ve wanted it for a long time. But if you need us to stop...” The lift of his eyebrows finished the sentence for him. As long as Greg was willing to move forward, so was he.

“Right now, all that matters to me is in this room.”

Jasper looked at something Greg couldn’t see—something behind him—and smiled. “Your cat?”

Greg turned on his heels and spotted the orange tabby on his dresser. “Callie, you know you’re not allowed in here.” He picked up the tabby, then deposited her into the hall before closing the door.

When he turned around again, he came face-to-face with Jasper. Without a shirt.

“Now,” Jasper said, sidling up to Greg, “where were we?”

God, you’re gorgeous. And that tattoo he’d seen earlier? It was half a sleeve that continued down Jasper’s back. The details were hard to make out no thanks to the man standing in front of him and the piss-poor lighting coming in from the window.

You can fix that. He took a step back, and Jasper followed after him, pinning Greg to the door when he went to flick on the light.

“You’re thinking too much.” Jasper wrapped his hands around Greg’s wrists and pressed his cock into Greg’s thigh. “Whatever you’re thinking—whatever we’ve talked about, leave it at the door. I’m not interested in those things. Not now. Think you can do that for me?”

Greg swallowed. Nodded so Jasper could see. “It’s just...”

Jasper’s eyes darkened. His grip on Greg’s wrists tightened. “What?” The way he growled did strange things to Greg’s head.

“Your tattoo.”

“Later.”

Greg clenched his jaw to keep his teeth from chattering. His fingers tingled, and as soon as he flexed them, Jasper let go.
