Van Pelt, Jr., radar operator Edward K. “Ed” Buckley, radio operator Sergeant Abe M. Spitzer, and tail gunner Staff Sergeant Albert “Al” Dehart. They were joined on the plane by Frederick Ashworth, flying as weaponeer, electronics test officer Philip Barnes, and Lieutenant Jacob Beser, who flew on this mission as electronic counter-measures officer as he had on the Hiroshima strike.
