Exercise 5.3
A daily intention practice can help to build this skill of doing the most important thing first.
1. As you start the day, perhaps while in the shower or drinking coffee, take a minute to reflect on what single result would make the day a success. Whatâs the one thing that, if you got it done, would make you feel like you had an impact today?
2. At the end of the day, celebrate if you got the one thing done. If not, reflect on what stopped you from fulfilling your intention. Did you get interrupted with other work? Did you fail to realize how much time other things would take? Did you overestimate how much you could get done in one day?
3. Based on what you learned from your answers in step 2, consider what you will do differently tomorrow to increase your chances of fulfilling your daily intention.
