Creating 3-D Characters
Here are a few specific elements to consider when creating your unforgettable characters:
Looks. Looks can be deceiving ⦠or not. Depending on how characters are being used in the story, their appearance may be either revealing or misleading. A man who is wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and has a muscular frame, heavy eyebrows, and menacing eyes sounds dangerous and might make a great suspect. To keep your reader guessing, however, you might choose to make your villainâs appearance misleading. The thieves in Sammy Keyes and the Sisters of Mercy, for example, dress up as nuns and seem harmless.
