Sweet Smoked Turkey Wings with Cayenne Pepper Rub

(Cooking Time 2 Hours 10 Minutes)

Ingredients for 10 servings

Turkey wings (4-lbs., 1.8-kg.)

The Rub

Olive oil - ¼ cup

Brown sugar - ½ cup

Smoked paprika - ¼ cup

Kosher salt - 1 teaspoon

Pepper - 1 teaspoon

Cayenne pepper - 2 teaspoons

Garlic powder - 2 tablespoons

Onion powder - 1 tablespoon

The Glaze

Raw honey - 3 tablespoons

The Heat

Apple wood pellets

Method

1. Place brown sugar in a bowl then mix with smoked paprika, kosher salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to it.

2. Pour olive oil into the bowl then stir until becoming a paste.

3. Rub the spice paste over the turkey wings then let them rest for approximately an hour.

4. Plug the wood pellet smoker and place the wood pellet inside the hopper. Turn the switch on.

5. Set the temperature to 275°F (135°C) and prepare the wood pellet smoker for indirect heat. Wait until the wood pellet smoker is ready.

6. Arrange the turkey wings in the wood pellet smoker and smoke them for 2 hours or until the internal temperature of the smoked turkey wings reaches 170°F (77°C).

7. Once it is done, quickly baste honey over the smoked chicken wings and let them stay in the wood pellet smoker for 5 minutes.

8. Remove the glazed smoked chicken wings from the wood pellet smoker and transfer them to a serving dish.

9. Serve and enjoy.
