Elmhurst Nurse 2: When I first got hired, there was a patient, I felt so bad. The patient was really trying to get to the bathroom. Literally like, like it was an explosion on the toilet, the wall, like every, so anyway, I finally got the patient, got cleaned . . . and then I called housekeeping. I was like, will you guys help me. They were like, that’s not my job. They were like, all we do is sanitize. So here I am a new nurse. I’m like, okay, let me just, I was like cleaning the whole freaking bathroom. My whole point with housekeeping is this: It’s not like you are working at Pizza Hut. So if you wanna work at Pizza Hut and you don’t know how to deal with this stuff, fine. But you work at a fricking hospital! Like, what is the point of being a hospital employee then?

Traveling Nurse: The other day, I moved the bed so she could wash behind it, because it was dirty. And I get that. We have been through hell . . . things are not like they should be. So I was thinking, well this could be a good opportunity for her to [clean it]. But she literally came in with a broom and then she left like five minutes later, my patient had died of COVID and she didn’t mop the floor.

Traveling Nurse 2: Nursing is an abusive profession, and y’all have been especially abused to be forced to work like this.
