Environmental Toxins

Perchlorates

Do you ever look up in the sky and see all of the vapor trails formed by jets as they are traveling from one place to another? Looks pretty innocent, right? Well, they are not! Rocket fuel (jet fuel) is the major source of perchlorates in our environment and they are released into the air in that very vapor trail. Perchlorate falls to the ground and rainwater washes it into the lakes and streams and rivers and ends up in our drinking water. It can be taken up by our fruits and vegetables. When cows eat the grass they take in perchlorates and it ends up in their milk. When we take this chemical into our bodies mainly by drinking unfiltered water, the perchlorates impact our thyroid glands by blocking the uptake of iodine into the thyroid. The thyroid is the main target for perchlorates. This prevents the synthesis of thyroid hormones. New studies show that much lower levels of perchlorates, that were traditionally considered safe, can be detrimental to the thyroid.

So, what can we do? Even though our drinking water is the cleanest in the world, we still have problems. Filter your water. Go to our website to see the filters we prefer, sandawellnessduo. com.
