7.5.2 Short-Tunnel POEM

Peroral endoscopic myotomy(POEM)has been proved to be an effective and safe treatment for achalasia [40, 45–47], However, for Ling IIc type or advanced achalasia (Fig. 7.22) with severe esophagus lumen morphological changes, conventional POEM seems difficult and time-consuming [21, 48, 49]. Thus, we introduced the short-tunnel POEM to solve this problem.
