Spicy Beef Chili with Mashed Sweet Potato

Everyone seems to have their own chili recipe. Some like it hot, some like it mild, some like tons of veggies, and others prefer more meat. With two different cuts of beef and whatever amount of spice pleases your palate, this meaty chili will win over even the pickiest chili lovers in your crowd.

FEAST DAY TIME: 7 to 8 hours in the slow cooker

Ingredients

SPICY BEEF CHILI

1 pound cubed grass-fed, organic beef stew meat

1 medium yellow onion

1 large carrot

1 medium zucchini

1 green bell pepper

1 red bell pepper

6 garlic cloves

1 pound grass-fed, organic ground beef

1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes

1 cup beef broth or water

3 tablespoons chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon ground cumin

Sea salt

MASHED SWEET POTATO

1 large sweet potato

1 tablespoon grass-fed butter

Salt

Fresh chives, scallions, and/or crumbled bacon, for garnish
