The Icelandic people are very proud of their sagas. They still tell them today. Many Icelanders claim to be distant relatives of the heroes in the stories. Given how few people live in Iceland today (only 320,000 people), it’s possible they are! Many modern books, movies, and TV shows have been influenced by sagas.
