Dialogue
Dialogue is a useful tool to convey information without breaking away from the story, and a great way to open your story, providing your characters have something to say. Avoid mundane statements (Hello, How are you?). Dialogue is covered in more detail in Chapter Fifteen.
Avoid Extraneous Information
Information that isn’t directly relevant to the story action at hand, such as back story or introspection by your characters while they drink tea, will kill your story. Only include immediately essential information.
