Just south of Sedan in the small town of Stonne are memorials to the sharpe tank battle that took place there in May 1940. Far left is the French Char B1 which was a better tank than anything the Germans had in 1940. It had very effective armor and weapons; a 75mm hull cannon and a 47mm cannon in the turret. The top right photo is a memorial at the edge of town overlooking fields that the Germans came across to capture the plateau of Stonne. At the foot of the memorial is a AMX tank which is a cold war era tank.
