AFFIRMATION PROMPT

Daily, I cross from my normal, regular life over the threshold into my writing life and sacred space. Daily, I consciously turn my energy and focus to my writing.

PLOT PROMPT

As we have discussed, the middle of the story is the territory of the antagonists, which means that the antagonists control the new and unusual world. In this world, antagonists—internal and external—interfere with the protagonist’s forward progress, creating tension and excitement. This back-and-forth between protagonist and antagonist forms the essential, dynamic Yin and Yang of stories.

WRITING PROMPT

Create a moment when the protagonist is given a hint, a sign, or an indication of what will be expected of her if she moves forward. This warning foreshadows what could happen to her at the crisis to come, the moment when she looks in the mirror and sees that she’s lost her soul.

She takes action she believes is expected of her and will advance her own personal goals. The challenges mount. Show the protagonist’s actions and how she reacts as life around her becomes more difficult.

Show her vision forward toward her goals dimming.
