Barbie marveled at the lavish yacht as the speedboat pulled up to the rear and two attendants hooked it to cleats. One of the attendants offered his hand, and she gladly accepted the assist.

She’d no more set foot on the deck than the speedboat took off again, apparently headed back to the mainland. “This way, ma’am,” the attendant gestured.

“Ma’am?” she sniped at the man, insulted by the appellation. That didn’t, however, stop her from following him.

The yacht was like a floating hotel, outfitted expensively. Barbie could picture herself spending time in such luxury, and before the night was over, she fully intended to seduce her host and have him begging for more.

She’d dressed for the occasion in a barely there short black dress that was essentially little more than a tube of stretchy fabric with sparkles that lit when light hit them. Her stiletto heels added six inches to her height and helped draw attention to her legs.

The attendant led her to the bow of the yacht, where Rafael was seated at a table. A chilled bottle of champagne sat in what appeared to be a gold bucket with two glasses flanking it. He didn’t move or even turn his head as they approached. Barbie assumed that was because he didn’t hear them.

“Your guest has arrived, sir,” the attendant announced.

Rafael looked in their direction. “Excellent,” he said with a smile, then rose and pulled out the chair next to his. “Please, have a seat.”

Barbie sat and crossed her legs, fully aware that the action made her dress rise high enough to expose most of one buttock and leg. It annoyed her that Rafael didn’t bother to look. Instead, he lifted the champagne from the ice. “May I pour you a glass?”

When she saw the label, her ire dampened. Roederer Christal. Anyone who could afford nearly four thousand dollars for a bottle of champagne could be forgiven an oversight. “Only if you’re joining me,” she replied in a sexy tone.

He smiled, poured two glasses, and handed her one. She took a sip and smiled. “Delicious and the perfect drink to celebrate.”

“Are we celebrating?”

“We are.”

This time when he smiled, he leaned toward her. “I am breathless in anticipation.” He was one hundred percent honest. If she’d secured the location of Ivy McCoy or her parents, then he would have everything he needed to take care of that loose end.

“Well, I told you I’d get you what you wanted, sugar. The only question that remains is what is it worth to you?”

“Didn’t we have an arrangement?” It took a bit of effort to keep the ire from his tone. He didn’t like Barbie and was eager for their association to end. But he would be civil until she gave him what he wanted, and he verified the authenticity of the information.

“I think we can do better, don’t you?” She drank down the entire glass of champagne. “I’m just parched. Pour me another?”

Rafael had a vision of cramming the entire bottle down her throat and watching her drown in champagne, but he couldn’t.
