I had a meeting with my boss and he decided that I’ll be presenting to the board
How about these two:
I’m afraid of what will happen if I stand up for myself
Fear stops me from making a stand
By turning a verb into a noun, it is stopped in time. Did you notice that in each pair of statements, you visualised a still image for one, and a moving image for the other?
If your client is having difficulty putting an unpleasant memory or thought out of the mind, you can turn the active verbs into nominalisations and freeze those memories in time.
