Method 2: Detailed

Calculate your detailed score by comparing your servings of food groups to the goals. This will be more accurate.

Give yourself 1 point for every Y.

For each N score, use the “detailed scoring guide” to find where your weekly total or average daily score (for whole grains and butter) fits in, then award yourself 0 or 0.5 point in the detailed score column. For each Y score, award yourself 1 point.

Add up the total score and compare to MIND targets. (Aim for a score of 10 to 15, but remember, even scores from 7 to 8 saw some benefits. Top scorers from the research had MIND diet scores in the 8.5 to 12.5 range.)
