If you answered yes to these questions, itâs a good bet that you have lost your passion and zeal to transform your life into one of intentionality. Fulfilling your purpose requires passionâzeal, fervency, or enthusiasm. Purpose has to do with our head, thinking right about why weâre here and understanding our calling. Passion has to do with our heart, the internal fire that motivates us and energizes us to fulfill our purpose and do Godâs will. God is the Source of spiritual passion. The Holy Spirit comes to ignite us with holy fire.
In the world we live in, natural passion is often a key to success and impact. Knowing information is valuable, but possessing the fire is invaluable. Nothing major in history was ever accomplished without zeal. It is the deciding difference between successful and unsuccessful people in every field of endeavor. The fire inside affects everything on the outside. William Ward says, âEnthusiasm and persistence can make an average person superior; indifference and lethargy can make a superior person average.â12
Passion is not static; it doesnât stay the same. A fire either spreads or burns out. The tendency of fire, if left alone, is to go out. Passion works the same way. We need to work it, stoke it, and build it. Once the fire goes out, another enemy that is always lurking in the shadows will begin to worm its way into our heart. That enemy is apathy. Apathy isnât a mental condition; it is a condition of the heart.
Discover your divine assignment and you have no reason to retreat. Discover your passion and you laugh in the face of defeat.

2.Intentional leaders are not afraid to take ownership.
Taking ownership or responsibility is a key trait of intentional leaders. Intentional leaders never look for the easy way out, but rather demonstrate ownership over every aspect of their lives. No matter the issues at hand, responsible people do not shy away from taking all necessary steps to ensure things are taken care of, which is called getting the job done no matter what it takes.
Responsibility is a unique conceptâ¦. You may share it with others, but your portion is not diminished. You may delegate it, but it is still with youâ¦. If responsibility is rightfully yours, no evasion, or ignorance or passing the blame can shift the burden to someone else. Unless you can point your finger at the man who is responsible when something goes wrong, then you have never had anyone really responsible.14
Taking ownership means refusing to allow others to fall on their swords.
Falling into the trap of asking someone else to fall on the sword may make your self-indulgent pity party more interesting, but it will not solve the problem. The bottom lineâthe only one who can make a difference in your life is you. Period! If you want things to change, then take steps to change whatever needs changing and stop all the finger pointing. Because when everyone is responsible, no one is responsible. Responsibility is a me, not a we activity.
