Well, for starters there should be not one person who has full control over anything that is happening. Every building within the Armenian Quarter has one person designated to have full control over the structure, and they are appointed by the Patriarchy. It is very sad looking at what is happening to the community; everyone is packing up and leaving. At this point in time, there is no more spiritual space left. The church must give us aid and advice to bring this old community back together.

The next interview was a really quick interview with a gentleman by the name of Kevork Bekarian, who is around fifty-seven years old. He is not married, has no children, and lives in the monastery. He was born and raised in Jerusalem. Throughout his lifetime, he has loved music and dancing. He became a well-known dance instructor with a small company that traveled all over the world, performing for kings and queens. Mr. Bekarian is also a jeweler who made several one-of-a-kind pieces out of gold, precious stones, and silver. He told me,
