I like to mix this up by making spaghetti cupcakes. You read it right: cupcakes. Out of spaghetti. Here’s how you do it.

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Cook half a box of spaghetti to al dente. Combine it with 1 to 2 cups (depending on the number of kids) of the adult short ribs with tomato sauce (don’t mix the gemelli into the sauce in the adults’ recipe until after removing short ribs and sauce for the kids) and ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese. Toss and set aside.

Generously oil the wells of a muffin tin and twirl the spaghetti-beef mixture into each well, pressing down to ensure a cupcake shape. Top with ¼ cup grated Parmesan and bake until golden and slightly crispy, about 20 to 25 minutes. Serve hot and watch the smiles.
