Be mindful that RQs change. They are affected by successes, setbacks, and other events in a person’s professional and personal life. As an example, you may have observed someone becoming more comfortable with risk at a midpoint in her life once her children have become adults and are no longer reliant on her. It is not uncommon to see people redirect their careers at this point. So, if you have a team member with a 4.5 RQ today, do not necessarily assume it will be the same a year from now. It may go up, down, or stay the same.
